A long-time client passed away from a heart attack while at work.  There were no warning signs prior to the event.  His wife’s comment after I delivered her life insurance cheque was, “He took care of me.”  It sounds cliche but it was another reminder of the importance of what of I am doing and how I am helping people with their business or family needs.

A developing niche is the Critical Illness insurance market where a Flexible Refund of Premium feature can be built into a client’s policy.  The husband of a claimant told me how the tax free proceeds from his wife’s CI policy, “saved their bacon”, while his wife recovered from a serious illness.  He is a business owner and had to take a lot of time off work to care for her.

My portfolio of clients includes a wide variety of business owners as well as a block that services a range of personal and family insurance needs.

One of the key services I provide for business owners is putting together the funding for buy-sell agreements.  Sometimes the funding mechanism is overlooked and when it matters most, the buy-sell agreement cannot be executed as planned.
